​In his speech, FM Minh expressed his hope that the Vietnam-Malaysia strategic partnership will contribute to building regional trust and reinforcing solidarity and unity as well as enhancing ASEAN’s central role in the region’s strategic issues.

As ASEAN members and coastal nations, both nations will cooperate more closely in the interests of their people, as well as for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and a successful and strong ASEAN Community, Minh said.

Malaysian Ambassador Dato Azmil Bin Mohamed Zabidi in turn highlighted the flourishing Vietnam- Malaysia in multiple fronts since they officially established diplomatic ties 42 years ago.
The two nations have exchanged numerous senior visits, including Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s official visit to Malaysia in August, he said.
Malaysia is among the ten largest investors in Vietnam with 495 projects. At present, two-way trade hits nearly US$10 billion.
